Scottish Angling Showcase

The West Galloway Fisheries Trust was established as a non-profit making organisation in 1989, with a remit to conserve and, where appropriate, enhance the aquatic biodiversity of four Galloway rivers, the Bladnoch, Cree, Luce and Fleet. Since then, the Trust has expanded to encompass all of the rivers which flow into the Scottish Solway Firth coast and Northwards to include several Ayrshire rivers. The WGFT now undertakes an extensive work programme, including water quality monitoring, electrofishing, habitat projects, restocking and also provides an advisory service.
